Fire Management

Managing the native plant communities with prescribed fire since this landscape is home to several fire adapted species and fire dependent plant communities. BICY has a large fire program that manages beneficial prescribed and wildfire to benefit prairies, pinelands, and a variety of wildlife species that use these habitats. This staff also works to suppress damaging wildfires and their impacts during extended drought conditions.
